Customer Service and Sales

Customer Interaction & Order Management

  • Handle inbound customer inquiries via telephone, email, texts, and online orders (approx. 50 calls per day).

Loading Support

  • Prepare route-specific product loads for milkmen, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

  • Assist milkmen with the proper and timely loading of delivery trucks each morning/afternoon.

  • Cross-check items being loaded with route manifests and make corrections as needed.

  • Maintain the loading area in a clean and organized condition before, during, and after shift.

Receiving Deliveries

  • Receive and unload incoming deliveries, verifying item count and inspecting for damage or discrepancies.

  • Sign off on delivery receipts and promptly notify the Warehouse Manager of any issues.

  • Organize and store deliveries in accordance with product rotation policies and designated storage areas.

Inventory Management

  • Assist with maintaining accurate stock levels through daily counts and periodic audits.

Inventory and Product Rotation

Responsibilities include machinery operation, cleaning and sanitation, chemical handling, product handling, inventory management, vat clean-in-place (CIP) procedures, and assisting in deliveries and production.

AUTHORITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY

The Plant Employee is accountable for maintaining cleanliness and operational efficiency of equipment and production areas, handling chemicals safely, assisting with production processes including vat CIP, and supporting logistics and delivery functions. This employee must follow all safety protocols, company policies, and food safety regulations to ensure product quality and workplace safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

General Plant Operations

  • Operate and maintain plant machinery including separators, fillers, pasteurizers (HTST), and bottle washers.

  • Assist in setting production quotas and scheduling staffing as directed.

  • Maintain accurate production counts and inventory of supplies and products.

  • Participate in cleaning, washing, sanitizing, and maintaining all equipment, tanks, vats, pipes, valves, and floors.

  • Assist with machine assembly, disassembly, lubrication, and preventive maintenance.

  • Monitor refrigeration and cooling systems, adjusting settings as necessary.

Vat Clean-In-Place (CIP) Procedures

  • Disconnect vats from product fill and discharge lines safely.

  • Rinse fill lines and vats with warm water to remove all product residue prior to cleaning.

  • Remove, clean, and rinse all inlet and outlet valves and fittings using detergent, hot water, and appropriate brushes.

  • Reassemble vats and valves accurately after cleaning and rinsing.

  • Foam clean vat exteriors thoroughly prior to CIP cycle.

  • Measure and add CIP cleaners or acid solutions to vats according to SOPs.

  • Circulate cleaning solutions through vats for 15-20 minutes for effective sanitation.

  • Drain vats and flush thoroughly with fresh water until no cleaner residues remain.

  • Add and circulate sanitizers for 3-5 minutes as part of final sanitization.

  • Drain vats and prepare for production by reassembling all components.

  • Accurately fill out wash logs and cleaning documentation to maintain compliance and traceability.

  • Report any equipment malfunctions or sanitation issues promptly.

Sanitation and Cleaning

  • Wash raw milk lines, milk silos, bottles, tanks, jugs, pumps, and other production equipment.

  • Use cleaning chemicals following MSDS and PPE requirements, ensuring proper mixing and application.

  • Perform thorough cleaning of production floors, drains, and designated plant areas.

  • Follow lockout/tagout procedures during glass removal or equipment maintenance.

  • Dispose of defective or damaged bottles and glass safely.

Production Support

  • Assist with juice production by mixing formulas and preparing sweeteners.

  • Fill and empty vats, dispensers, and containers, including flavored and pasteurized milk products.

  • Support change-overs during production runs, coordinating with filler operators and other plant staff.

  • Fill cases and stack finished product for cold storage.

Chemical Handling

  • Handle and prepare chemicals with mandatory PPE including rubber gloves, aprons, goggles, and face shields.

  • Follow strict guidelines to avoid spills and overflows when filling chemical containers.

  • Maintain safe storage and usage of sanitizers, acids, lubricants, and cleaning agents.

  • Tank Truck Delivery Assistance

  • Hook up and disconnect tank trucks to silos safely.

  • Guide drivers during tank truck positioning.

  • Retrieve and manage wash tags, seals, samples, and delivery paperwork.

  • Test milk samples for quality assurance.

Safety and Compliance

  • Serve as a safety coordinator in plant operations, identifying hazards and reporting violations.

  • Maintain sharp focus on all tasks, following food safety and company policies.

  • Participate in training, meetings, and assist with inspections from regulatory bodies.
